The formula for calculating cubic meters is as follows:

What is Volumetric Weight?

Volumetric weight is a metric used by shipping companies to determine freight charges for large, lightweight items. In such situations, charges are based on the space an item occupies rather than its actual weight.

International Volumetric Weight Formula:

(Length × Width × Height in cm) ÷ 5000 = Volumetric Weight (kg)

The CBM Calculator allows for modification of the volumetric divisor (default: 5000) to align with different freight policies. After determining the volumetric weight, users can compare it with the actual weight to identify which value will be applied to calculate shipping costs.
